James Gallagher was supposed to fight Adam Borics next month in the main event of Bellator 196, but a hand injury caused the featherweight to be pulled from the card. A bout between former UFC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson and UFC veteran Roger Huerta is now headlining the event.
Despite losing the shot to main event his first Bellator MMA event, a recovering Gallagher is looking to get back in the cage at Bellator 200.
Gallagher made those intentions known with a post on Instagram:
Want to say sorry to everyone who was tuning to watch me fight for this setback. I was at 100% healthy and ready to strangle everyone in this division once again, but I fractured my hand in an unlucky training accident. I stayed in the fight and would have done it with one hand easy, but unfortunately I couldn't get medically cleared and had to step out. Thanks to all of you for the ongoing support, and rest assured to the Jimmy Show will be back soon enough to clear out all of these bums. I'm going to be ready for #bellator200 in London in may. Who wants to see me on it ? @bellatormma
There has been no word given at this time by Bellator MMA officials as to whether or not Gallagher will compete on that card.
Bellator 200 takes place on Friday, May 25 from the SSE Arena in London, England with Rafael Carvalho and Gegard Mousasi headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
