James Tennyson Signs With Matchroom Boxing, Fights Set For PBC 2/15 Card | Fight-Size Boxing Update

Here's your fight-size boxing update for January 21, 2020:

- Former European champion and world title challenger James Tennyson has signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing. Tennyson, who has won four straight since losing to IBF super featherweight champion Tevin Farmer in 2018, is targeting a British lightweight title shot next.

- The British Boxing Board of Control previously stated that British lightweight champion Joe Cordina and Tennyson are to have a purse bid scheduled for February 12 and must have their fight be done by the end of May. Tennyson stopped Craig Evans in a title eliminator in November.

- As part of the un-televised portion of the February 15 PBC card in Nashville, Rau'shee Warren will face Gilberto Mendoza and Caleb Truax will take on Ernest Amuzu. TV main event on FOX is Caleb Plant vs. Vincent Feigenbutz for the IBF super middleweight title.

- Other undercard fights for the February 15 PBC card from Nashville announced are these:

  • Vernon Brown vs. Justin DeLoach
  • Maidel Sando vs. Sergio Gonzalez
  • Tyler Tomlin vs. TBA
  • Duke Reagan vs. Da'jour Burney

- Anthony Joshua talks about a number of topics including potential fights against Oleksandr Usyk and Kubrat Pulev as well as his rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr. in December.

- Here is what Jake Paul had to say about his boxing future ahead of his fight on January 30: “This is not a one-off stunt for me. I want to keep fighting and I have a list of targets of people that keep talking shit, Antonio Brown, Dillon Danis, other YouTubers – the potential for this is massive and I know that I will be the best ‘influencer-boxer’.
