The upcoming UFC 220 card will go on with one less bout on the card because a women’s strawweight division encounter between Maryna Moroz and Jamie Moyle has been canceled.
Fightful’s James Lynch first reported the news on Moyle’s injury, although details of the exact injury aren’t known at this time.
Moroz was also pulled from the card because UFC officials weren’t able to find her a suitable opponent with less than four days to go before the event.
This encounter between Moroz and Moyle was set to take place on the UFC Fight Pass portion of the preliminary card. The UFC 220 event will now move on with a total of eleven bouts and the bell time has been moved to 7pm EST., no bout is going to be added to the card to replaced the now canceled women’s attraction.
It is also unknown at this time if the two fighters will be rescheduled to fight down the line or if they will go their separate ways.
UFC 220 takes place on Saturday, January 20 from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
