Jarrell Miller has opened up about his most recent drug test result.
The unbeaten heavyweight contender posted a one-minute video on social media saying that he had messed and made it a bad call, alluding to the previous positive test results. Miller initially tested positive for the banned substance GW1516 from a urine test back in March, before it was recently revealed that he had tested positive for two more banned substances.
"A lot can be said right now. I'm going straight to the point. I messed up. I messed up, I made a bad call. There's a lot of ways to handle a situation. I handled it wrongly and I'm paying the price for it. I missed out on a big opportunity and I'm hurting on the side. My heart is bleeding right now. I hurt my family, my friends, my team, my supporters, but I'm going to own up to it. I'm going to deal with it. I'm going to correct it and I'm going to come back better and I'm humbled by the experience. I understand how to handle certain things. I'm going to leave it as that. I love you guys and I appreciate you guys out there. Fighters, we go through a lot and I don't want to make a bad name for ourselves. It's time to do right and get right," Miller said.
Previously, Miller posted a lengthy statement on social media denying he knowingly took any banned substances that would cause a positive test result. But that statement was posted before it was revealed that Miller also tested positive for HGH in a second drug test and later on failed a third test for both EPO and GW1516 once more.
After the first test result, the New York State Athletic Commission denied Miller a boxing license, preventing him from challenging for Anthony Joshua's WBA "Super," WBO and IBF heavyweight titles on June 1. The fight was supposed to headline a Matchroom Boxing card from Madison Square Garden and was going to be streamed on DAZN in the United States.
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is looking to find a replacement opponent for Joshua and stated on Twitter that an announcement regarding the fight will be made next week.
