Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is defending her gold against former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm this Saturday at UFC 219.
Jason Parillo is a longtime coach of Cyborg and he believes the fighter is on a much higher level than the other women competing right now.
“Cris is just on another level than these girls. I really, truly believe she is. I know Holly has all the experience in the world and is very smart and an intelligent fighter, and they’re going to go in there with a hell of a game plan, but Cris is a different animal,” Parillo said to MMA Junkie.
Parillo also believes this fight against Holm will prove just how big of a draw Cyborg can become in the UFC.
“A lot of people know who Cris is,” Parillo said. “She’s a big draw as it is, but she’s a bigger draw than anybody even knows because we haven’t had her on this big promotion.”
Cyborg is going to be making the first defense of the title, which she won by defeating Tonya Evinger at UFC 214.
UFC 219 takes place on Saturday, December 30 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Cyborg and Holly Holm headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
