Jean Pascal And Chad Dawson To Make Returns On December 8 PBC Card

Former light heavyweight world champions Jean Pascal and Chad Dawson will each have a shot to bounce back from respective losses in each of their last fights.

Pascal and Dawson will each have a fight on a December 8 PBC card in Las Vegas. Pascal will fight rising undefeated contender Ahmed Elbiali and Dawson will fight former super middleweight world title challenger Edwin Rodriguez. Those fights will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1. Leon Margules, President of Warriors Boxing, said the winner of these fights could have a major fight coming their way soon.

"The historic Hialeah Park Racetrack & Casino is a beautiful venue for an old-school crossroads fights like Ahmed Elbiali vs. Jean Pascal and Chad Dawson vs. Edwin Rodriguez," Margules said. "In the main event, the world will be watching to see if the young contender Elbiali will have his day or if the older champion Jean Pascal still has what it takes. With Dawson vs. Rodriguez, it is 'do or die' time for both these guys. The winner of this fight will go on to another big opportunity. The loser will have some thinking to do. It's going to be an outstanding night of fights from top to bottom, at one of the nicest venues for boxing in North America."

Pascal has lost three of his last five fights, the worst stretch of his career. Pascal is best known for his reign as the WBC light heavyweight champion, a reign that ended when Bernard Hopkins defeated Pascal in 2011. The 34-year-old is looking to bounce back from losing a majority decision to Eleider Alvarez in his last fight on June 3 on Showtime.

Dawson's last time out in the boxing ring came in the form of a loss to Andrzej Fonfara. Dawson is a two-time light heavyweight world champion.

Although Pascal and Dawson are fighting on separate fights on the same card, they do share some history together. Pascal beat Dawson via technical decision in 2010 with WBC and IBO light heavyweight titles on the line.
