Jeremy Stephens is ranked #5 in the UFC Featherweight Division at the moment, he’s also coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Frankie Edgar at UFC 205. Despite the setback, Stephens has his future planned out, specifically a fight against UFC mainstay Clay Guida.
Stephens took to Twitter to call out Guida, saying he's sought the fight for years.
Clay Guida- I'm a fan, but you're asking for an opponent and I've wanted this fight for years. It'll be an honor to make this fight happen. pic.twitter.com/nb8JGEUxOq

Guida himself has only won just one of his last four fights, defeating Robert Peralta, while suffering a trio of defeats to Dennis Bermudez, Thiago Tavares ad Brian Ortega. Guida hasn’t competed since UFC 199 in June of 2016, where he suffered a knockout loss to the previously mentioned Brian Ortega.
Neither Guida or the UFC have responded to the call out, if the fight were to come together down the line, it would be the first time in well over two years that Guida fought somebody ranked in the top 15 of the UFC Featherweight Division.
