Jessica Eye Wants Potential Title Fight At UFC 238

UFC President Dana White recently stated that Jessica Eye may be next in line for an opportunity against UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko.

Eye, who is ranked #1 in the UFC Women’s Flyweight Division rankings, would let to have that potential opportunity this June at UFC 238.

Shevchenko, who won the title with a unanimous decision win over former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the co-main event of UFC 231, has yet to respond to the request from Eye.

There has also been no comment from the UFC as to the request made by Eye, as no bouts have been made official at this time for UFC 238.

Whomever Shevchenko does defend the gold against next, it would be the first time anybody has ever defended the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title.

UFC 238 takes place on Saturday, June 8 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
