Jessica Eye recently competed on the preliminary card of UFC 231, defeating Katlyn Chookagian by split decision.
The fighter is currently undefeated since dropping to flyweight and now she wants a shot at the 125 pound championship.
“I’m never going to get what I feel I deserve,” Eye said to MMA Junkie. “Isn’t that what keeps your expectations high and keeps you driving for the better things? I’m a hard worker, and no matter what it is I’m always going to strive to be better. But I do believe I’ve earned my right for a title shot. I do believe I’ve earned to be given a chance to change my life and maybe help other people see my story.”
In her three fight stint at flyweight, a surging Eye defeated Kalindra Faria, Jessica-Rose Clark and the aforementioned Chookagian. While on Monday media rounds, the new Flyweight Champion in Valentina Shevchenko welcomed the idea.
"I'm ready to fight anyone. If the UFC want to make this fight (Jessica Eye) that's no problem with me," said Shevchenko in an interview with Ariel Helwani.

No matter who Eye fights next, a certain mentality won’t change for the fighter, which is her versus the world.
“It’s me against the world,” Eye said. “It’s always going to be that way. I was once told a long time ago I’m a hillbilly girl who would never amount to anything from Cleveland, Ohio. Well, this hillbilly’s doing great things. Beverly Hillbilly just showed up.”
Valentina Shevchenko captured the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title at UFC 231, defeating former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk by unanimous decision.
