Jim Ross is not surprised by potentially seeing Conor McGregor or Ronda Rousey in WWE.
Loads of speculation came out after WWE posted a video on their website about McGregor possibly going to WWE. The video mentions McGregor's temporary retirement from mixed-martial-arts and following tweets from Becky Lynch and McGregor's coach. Recently McGregor confirmed WWE contacted him. In his Monday blog, Ross said he thought UFC stars could fit well in wrestling if used correctly.
"How can anyone be shocked that WWE is interested in such UFC stars a Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor? I'd be more shocked to read that WWE was NOT interested in these two notwithstanding Paige VanZant and Sage Northcutt as well. I can't see any of them joining the WWE team full time but can easily see some strategically marketed, big event appearances that would include physicality and could be highly successful," wrote Ross.
Ronda Rousey already appeared in a WWE ring at Wrestlemania 31. Stephanie McMahon said she hopes to sign Rousey when she retires from mixed-martial-arts. Rousey is scheduled to fight Friday against UFC Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.
Conor McGregor is reportedly taking a break from mixed-martial-arts in order to get ready for fatherhood. Since his victory at UFC 205 he has been connected to a fight with Floyd Mayweather, UFC Welterweight Champ Tyron Woodley and appearing in Game of Thrones.
In his blog, Ross would also discuss a new WWE Network special on ECW, commentating for New Japan Pro Wrestling in January and Neville's heel turn.
