Jimi Manuwa Says Boxing Match With David Haye Is On

In recent months, plenty of MMA fighters have crossed over into the sport of boxing, including UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, Tim Hague, Nam Phan and a host of others.

Top 5 ranked (in the UFC) light heavyweight Jimi Manuwa may become the next fighter to make that transition to the boxing ring.

The Most Popular Prop Bets Placed During MMA Matches

Manuwa and Haye were both in attendance this past weekend at BAMMA 31, they came face to face in a video captured by MMA Uno:

Then the British MMA superstar spoke to Jim Edwards of MMA Uno and he states that the fight is on for 2018.

“The fight is on,” Manuwa said. “He wants it and I want it and all that. He says he has to fight a couple more fights before we’re going to fight. We’re going to do it beginning of next year.”

Haye’s last bout in the boxing ring came this past March, where he suffered a defeat to Tony Bellow, but the fighter also suffered an Achilles injury midway through the bout. Manuwa last competed at UFC 214, where he was quickly knocked out in the opening round by Volkan Oezdemir.

If the fight does become official down the line, then it would become arguably the second biggest MMA fighter versus boxer bout, right behind The Money Fight.
