Joanna Jedrzejczyk To Defend Belt Against Karolina Kowalkiewiecz At UFC 205

A second title bout has been added to this November’s UFC 205, as Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends the women’s strawweight title against Karolina Kowalkiewiecz.

This will be the fourth title defense for Jedrejczyk (11-0-0), who has already defended her championship against Jessica Penna, Valerie Letourneau and Claudia Gadelha. Joanna said after her successful title defense against Gadelha at The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale that she wanted to fight in Madison Square Garden. That dream is coming true.

Kowalkiewiecz (10-0-0) has already fought three times under the UFC banner, defeating Randa Markos, Heather Clark and Rose Namajunas. Prior to coming to the UFC in 2015, Karolina defeated Mizuki Inoue at Invicta FC IX and current Titan FC Women’s Flyweight Champion Kalindra Faria.

Jedrzejczyk was the first person to make the announcement for the title fight, made via her Instagram account.

This will be the second title fight on the UFC 205 card as Tyron Woodley will be defending the welterweight championship against Stephen Thompson.

UFC 205 will be taking place on Saturday, November 12th from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with no main event made official as of this time.
