Joanna Jedzrejczyk Tells UFC Women’s Flyweight Division Fighters To Not be Jealous Of Her

MMA

Former UFC Women?s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedzrejczyk recently stated that she would like to fight Valentina Shevchenko for the vacant UFC Women?s Flyweight Title.

Those comments have apparently gotten the former champion some slack from the rest of the division, but Jedrzejczyk is telling the other fighters to stop being jealous of her.

?I?m so sorry, don?t be jealous,? Jedrzejczyk said on Ariel Helwani?s MMA Show. ?There are not so many dedicated fighters like me and not that many with that big legacy. I am always willing to fight and UFC knows this. I was supposed to take a long break, but I don?t know if that will happen now. Like I said, I am always open to move up and fight for the belt against Shevchenko.?

It should be noted that while UFC President Dana White has stated that Shevchenko is going to be one of the two fighters vying for the vacant gold, an opponent has yet to be announced.

Jedrzejczyk says if the fight does come together, it will happen this year.

?There?s a big chance that this happens,? she said. ?If this fight is going to happen it?s going to happen this year.?

Nicco Montano was the women?s flyweight champion before the whole mess began, but was stripped of the title after pulling out of a bout against Shevchenko at UFC 228.
