John Kavanagh Says Conor McGregor Is "Harassing" UFC For Trilogy Match With Dustin Poirier For Belt

Conor McGregor wants to rematch Dustin Poirier in a trilogy fight for the vacant lightweight championship, according to his coach John Kavanagh.

"The Notorious" had a similar reaction to his loss to Nate Diaz and instantly wanted to run that fight back and ended up winning a decision victory. Kavanagh has now revealed that McGregor is "harassing" the UFC to get his rematch and this time wants the vacant lightweight title to be on the line, especially with Khabib Nurmagomedov seemingly staying retired.

?He?s already harassing everybody to get the rematch, so we would love to rematch,? Kavanagh told Ariel Helwani (h/t MMA Junkie). I don?t think Dustin is against that. If we can get the rematch before summer, that would be amazing.

But Kavanagh believes that if the UFC goes down another path and McGregor has to wait his turn that we may lose the Irishman to boxing once more. McGregor has spoken of his desire to focus on his MMA career but if he and Dana White were to have different intentions for his future, McGregor may decide to pursue boxing ventures instead.

If it?s not to be, then I guess I don?t really know. Maybe he (McGregor) drifts off into the boxing. So if the MMA community could help me out here, get behind me, and pester the UFC to give him another fight sooner rather than later  ? so I don?t lose him to boxing for six months ? I would appreciate it.?
