John Lineker Praises The One Championship Weight Cutting System

MMA

Former UFC fighter John Lineker made his One Champion debut late last year at One Championship: Dawn Of Valor, defeating Muin Gafarov by unanimous decision.

Lineker, who has had a history of missing weight in the UFC, has nothing but praise for the One Championship weight cutting system.

?That was one of the main reasons I signed with ONE,? Lineker told Bloody Elbow. ?It was a good decision. ONE?s weigh-in system is very good. It ensures everyone comes in and nobody is way bigger than anyone else. Everyone is healthy. I felt great. Really happy. I hope other MMA events pick up on that weigh-in system because I can tell it?s a winner.?

The fighter competed a total of sixteen times under the UFC banner and he missed weight in five of those encounters.

While Lineker had a solid run in the UFC, one thing the fighter is happy about to be competing with One Championship.

?When things become stuck, we need to try and evolve,? he said. ?I think it was a good decision. I?m very happy with ONE and now I want to focus on my main objective which is becoming ONE Championship champ.?

There is no word yet on when Lineker will fight again, as One Championship has postponed all events through May due to the coronavirus pandemic.
