Jon Fitch Claims To Be Negotiating With Bellator MMA

World Series Of Fighting/Professional Fighters League Welterweight Champion Jon Fitch says he is a free agent and no longer with the promotion.

Fitch, who has also competed in the UFC before, is apparently negotiating with Bellator MMA.

?As of (Friday), Feb. 2, I am officially a free agent,? Fitch said on his official YouTube channel. ?I?m in talks with Scott Coker and Bellator right now ? hopefully we?ll work something out by the end of this week.?

The fighter has spent the last four-plus years competing in the WSOF/PFL, defeating Joao Zeferino by decision to win the welterweight strap at WSOF 30. Fitch?s potential final fight with the WSOF/PFL may have been PFL: Daytona, where the fighter earned a second round submission victory over Brian Foster.

If Fitch does wind up signing with Bellator MMA, it would mean that the champion would compete in a welterweight division currently ruled by fellow UFC veteran Rory MacDonald.

This would be a huge loss for the promotion, which is expected to launch its first season this June.

Nobody from either the WSOF/PFL or Bellator MMA have commented on the claims made by Fitch.
