Jon Fitch vs. Paul Daley Booked For Bellator 199

Bellator MMA's newest signing has his first task in the cage.

Former UFC title challenger Jon Fitch was announced as signing an exclusive, multi-fight contract with the company this week, and on the Bellator 195 broadcast, was announced to take on Paul Daley in just a couple of months. The two will do battle in San Jose for Bellator 199 on May 12.

Fitch (30-7-1) is riding a hot streak that sits at four straight wins that led him to the World Series Of Fighting Welterweight Championship, before it became the PFL title. He would defend it twice, against the likes of Brian Foster and Jake Shields. Fitch was somewhat controversially cut by the UFC in 2013 after a loss to Demian Maia. Fitch had one only one of his last four fights heading into the release.

Daley (40-15-2) has blasted Bellator publicly in recent weeks, even going as far as claiming that he was released from the promotion. He's fresh off of a Bellator 183 KO victory over highly touted Lorenz Larkin, and is 6-2 in Bellator. Since leaving Strikforce in 2012, he's 11-3 as a pro.

Bellator 199 takes place May 12 from San Jose, California from the SAP Center.
