Joseph Diaz Jr. Announced For February 9 Golden Boy Promotions Card On DAZN

Golden Boy Promotions’ upcoming boxing card on DAZN next month will feature a number of top names inside the company’s stable of fighters.

Not only were two world title fights announced for the show, set to take place on February 9, but a pair of former title challengers as well among other boxers. The biggest name of the non-title bouts is Joseph Diaz Jr. taking on Charles Huerta. It will be Diaz’s first fight since beating WBA “Regular” featherweight champion Jesus Rojas in a non-title bout. Diaz’s fight will be for 10 rounds in the super featherweight division.

Also announced for the card is former super bantamweight title challenger Azat Hovhannisyan facing an opponent to be named at a later date. Hovhannisyan is coming off a win over Jesus Martinez in October when Hovhannisyan won the fight with a fourth-round knockout. It was Hovhannisyan’s first win since unsuccessfully challenging for the WBC title this past May.

As for the two world title fights announced on the card, WBA “Regular” super featherweight champion Alberto Machado will defend his title against Andrew Cancio and WBC super bantamweight champion Rey Vargas defends his title against Franklin Manzanilla.
