Joseph Parker Aiming To Beat Dereck Chisora To Get Dillian Whyte Rematch

Joseph Parker aims to get a rematch against Dillian Whyte but in order to do that, Parker might have to go through one of Whyte's old rivals.

With Whyte looking like he will face Dominic Breazeale for the interim WBC heavyweight title, Parker is looking to get a fight in the coming months to get back to the top of the heavyweight division and is interested in a fight against Dereck Chisora. Parker fought Whyte last July and after a competitive fight that saw both men get knocked down, Whyte won the bout by unanimous decision.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn previously stated that he wanted to get Parker vs. Chisora done for April 20 in the United Kingdom for a boxing card headlined by Whyte. In an interview with TalkSPORT, Parker said a fight against Chisora does interest him. Chisora and Whyte recently fought in December with Whyte picking up the victory.

?I think at the moment my team is focusing on Chisora. There?s other options, but I think that?s the one that sort of stands out to us at the moment. I think that throws me straight into the mix again. Chisora?s a guy who?s been around for a long time, got a lot of experience. And, you know, the performance he put in with the last fight against Dillian Whyte ? he looked good," Parker said.

Parker, a former WBO heavyweight title, lost the title to Anthony Joshua in March 2018 and is recently coming off a win against Alexander Flores back in December.
