UFC has a new player at featherweight.
Unranked Josh Emmett knocked out former title challenger Ricardo Lamas in the first round of their UFC on Fox Winnipeg bout Saturday night. You can see an excerpt of our live coverage below.
Round One: The round begins with Lamas attacking Emmett with some leg kicks, Emmett then pops Lamas with a punching combination. Lamas starts nailing Emmett with some side kicks to the leg, Emmett backs up Lamas with some power punches. Emmett starts landing some leg kicks of his own against Lamas, Emmett continues attacking Lamas with punching combinations. Emmett backs up Lamas by landing a straight left, Emmett and Lamas exchange some high kick attempts. Emmett crushes a kicking Lamas with a counter left hook and Lamas goes out cold.

Emmett was a replacement for Jose Aldo, who was pulled from the fight in order to take on Max Holloway instead. While the former lightweight in Emmett missed the weight, he took the bout on only three weeks notice.
