JR Says CM Punk An Attraction

MMA

Despite suffering a submission defeat in just over two minutes to Mickey Gall in his professional MMA debut, former professional wrestler turned professional MMA fighter CM Punk is still an attraction, according to longtime professional wrestling personality Jim Ross.

In an interview with FightHype.com that took place prior to UFC 203, Jim Ross made his point as to why CM Punk is still draws

?Yes, CM Punk is an attraction. He?s not trying to be a world champion, he?s not trying to avenge a loss, but he?s an attraction. He has name identity and people are making an emotional investment into what he?s doing; some positive and some not. That?s the business that we?re in as long as people are making a choice. If they weren?t making a choice, that would mean they wouldn?t care. And I think people do care.?

Punk?s future in both MMA and the UFC are up in the air right now, even UFC President Dana White recently suggested in an interview that Punk may want to try taking a few fights outside of the promotion before appearing in the world famous octagon once again.

Punk himself, in a post-fight interview with Megan Olivi, stated himself that he must return to Roufus Sport to train more and to correct what went wrong in his professional MMA debut, even stating that he had fun in the octagon and that UFC 203 was not the last time that we would be seeing the former pro wrestler in the MMA game.
