Justin Gaethje Wants To Fight Kevin Lee

Former WSOF Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje suffered the first defeat of his professional MMA career to former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez at UFC 218.

When the formerly undefeated fighter returns to the Octagon, an ideal opponent would be Kevin Lee.

“First time I ever met him, he (Lee) was nice,” said Gaethje on The MMA Hour. “Then [Lee] talked shit saying I was fan-boying over him. He doesn’t know what respect is. I’ll never show him respect again, that’s for sure. I just like punching loudmouths in the face.”

Lee hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since being submitted by UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 216. Gaethje says he wants to return to action in the summer, but could feel the itch to compete sooner than that.

“I’m sure I’ll get the itch sooner rather than later,” he said. “I said I wanted to wait around until June, July. But I’m sure I’ll get the itch sooner.”

Even though he has been challenged by Gaethje, a response has yet to be given by Lee at this time.
