Kayla Harrison Disappointed Not To Be Fighting Sarah Kaufman In PFL Season 2 Finale

Kayla Harrison competed at PFL 7, defeating Bobby Jo Dalziel by first round submission to advance to the finals of the women’s lightweight division playoffs.

One person who didn’t advance to the finals is Sarah Kaufman and Harrison is disappointed that she won’t get the chance to face Kaufman.

“I am a little disappointed because I always want to continue to grow as an MMA fighter,” Kaufman said after the event (via Nolan King & John Morgan of MMA Junkie). “I want to continue to test myself. I think everyone was kind of hoping for this magical moment with Sarah and I where I finally make her stop talking. But it is what it is. I look forward to the rematch with Larissa. I think we’re going to have some fireworks. I think we’re going to steal the show.”

Kaufman faced fellow UFC veteran Larissa Pacheco at PFL 7, but came up on the wrong side of a unanimous decision.

Although Harrison is disappointed to not be fighting Kaufman, don’t expect to see her mindset change as she faces Pacheco in the finals.

“My mindset never changes,” Harrison said. “I want to go out and I want to instill my will in a dominant fashion. I want to win by a KO, TKO, or submission. I think the last time, it was a very last-minute opponent change. I didn’t really have a lot of time to check her out. I went in there, probably myself underestimating her a little bit. This time, there’s not going to be that mistake. I’m ready to stay hungry, stay humble, and do whatever it takes to win.”

PFL Season 2 Finale takes place on Tuesday, December 31 from the Hulu Theater At Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
