After two straight losses and a broken orbital bone suffered in each of those fights, Kell Brook is back to winning boxing fights.
Brook made his super welterweight debut on the March 3 Matchroom Boxing card, knocking out Sergey Rabchenko in the second round. With the win, Brook wins the WBC Silver super welterweight title. Although winning the title does not guarantee him a shot at the world in the near future, it does put Brook in the conversation to fight Jermell Charlo, who does not have an opponent for his scheduled June 9 fight in California.
If Brook ever gets a world title at 154 pounds, he already has name for a title defense: IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr., who won the title off of Brook last May.
Brook was the welterweight world champion in 2016 when he decided to move up two weights to challenge for Gennady Golovkin's unified middleweight titles. Brook was defeated by Golovkin, suffering a broken orbital bone in the process. After months of rehab, Brook returned to the ring last year to defend his welterweight title against Spence. Spence knocked out Brook late in the fight and Brook had another broken orbital bone, prompting retirement talks before Brook signed a multi-fight deal with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing. Brook is 37-2 as a pro with 26 KOs.
