Khabib Nurmagomedov had the most Khabib compliment for Jan Blachowicz following the latter's successful title defense vs. Israel Adesanya at UFC 259.
Nurmagomedov, who was cornering Islam Makhachev on the card, ran into Blachowicz at the conclusion of last Saturday's event. Blachowicz's wrestling sealed the deal for him against Adesanya — and you can bet Nurmagomedov noticed it.
The footage was released as part of UFC's The Thrill and the Agony series.
“Thank you for the support,” Blachowicz told Nurmagomedov. “Appreciate it.”
“It was a great fight,” Nurmagomedov replied. “Great takedowns. You know why you win? Two takedowns. Takedown is wrestling, wrestling is power.”
Blachowicz made the first defense of his UFC light heavyweight title against Adesanya, the regning UFC middleweight champion. Despite entering the fight as an underdog, Blachowicz took a unanimous decision win.
