King Mo returns to the Bellator MMA cage when he faces for light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary at Bellator 185.
When it comes to the upcoming super fight between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, the Bellator MMA veteran isn’t ordering the pay-per-view.
“Me, I’ll wait to watch it on Facebook,” Lawal told MMA Junkie Radio. “I’m not going to pay $100 to watch a guy make his pro debut versus a guy that’s 49-0, looking for his 50th win – a five-time world champion, a guy that’s a bronze medalist in the Olympics that should have won gold, a guy that’s been boxing his whole life, comes from a family of boxers. I’m not going to watch that mismatch.”
Besides the experience mismatch between the UFC fighter and the boxer, the UFC Lightweight Champion is a huge underdog in the fight as well.
Mo even has a theory as to just how the whole fight is going to go on Saturday Night.
“(Mayweather) is going to go out there, walk Conor down behind his high guard, and just beat him up,” Lawal said. “It’s a mismatch. Just like when James Toney fought Randy Couture: mismatch. It is what it is.”
Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
