Kurt Angle: Brock Lesnar Still Wants To Go Up Against Jon Jones

Although it's been years since Brock Lesnar competed in the octagon, his name is still being thrown around and Kurt Angle says the former UFC champion wants a shot at Jon Jones.

Angle recently appeared on "Ariel Helwani's MMA Show" and was asked about Lesnar, whom Angle has wrestled several times throughout their years in WWE. While Angle believes Lesnar is retired from mixed martial arts, he does believe Lesnar still wants to fight Jones, who is currently the UFC light heavyweight champion.

"I hope he does return. I know he said that he's retired, but I think the one fight he wants, and I don't know if it's ever going to happen, but he wants to go up against Jon Jones. I think that would be an extraordinary fight. They're very different and their sizes are extremely in the opposite. Brock's a freak. He might not win all of his fights. He might not be the most polished fighter, but he is an incredible athlete. He can do whatever he wants. He wanted to play football and could adapt to anything. Wrestling with him, I knew how great of an athlete he truly is. He's unbelievable," Angle said.

Jones took notice of the WWE Hall of Famer's comments and fired back with a tweet of his own saying how he'll embarrass Lesnar if the two ever fought together.

Lesnar, a former UFC heavyweight champion, has not fought since facing Mark Hunt at UFC 200 back in 2016. He then teased a potential fight against Daniel Cormier last year when the two were face-to-face immediately after Cormier beat Stipe Miocic to become the UFC heavyweight champion, but that fight never materialized. Instead, Lesnar would remain in WWE and his most recent appearance saw him lose the Universal title to Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.
