A rematch has been promised after the Horiguchi with, but with Bellator gold on the line and Horiguchi would like that second fight to happen this summer.
“I’m very comfortable and maybe June, July we’ll have a rematch,” Horiguchi told MMA Junkie. “I think I need one more win.”
The second fight will happen under the Bellator MMA banner, which was the agreement made when Caldwell was sent to represent the promotion at Rizin 14.
Don’t expect to see Horiguchi become a member of the Bellator MMA roster or any other promotion on a full time basis, as he is happy competing in Rizin.
“I very enjoy (being with Rizin FF) because more good marketing and everybody excited,” Horiguchi said. “My family (sees me), I like to fight for Rizin.”
Bellator MMA has already announced a few big events this summer, including a return to Madison Square Garden and London, but a bout between Horiguchi and Caldwell has yet to be announced by the promotion at this time.
