There is a late addition to this month’s UFC Fight Night 105 card, and it’s a lightweight division attraction that will be pitting Alex Volkanovski up against Michel Quinones.
Volkanovski (14-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Yusuke Kasuya by second round TKO at UFC Fight Night 101. Volkanovski is a former Roshambo MMA Lightweight Champion and a former Pacific Xtreme Combat Lightweight Champion, he never actually lost either of the titles before signing with the UFC. Volkanovski will be entering this fight on the strength of an eleven fight winning streak, one that has lasted over three years.
Quinones (8-1-0) will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he will be doing so while riding a five fight winning streak. Quinones competed once under the Bellator MMA banner, where he suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Brandon Girtz at Bellator 80 in 2012. Quinones has already competed once this year, defeating Caio Rocha by unanimous decision at Titan Fighting Championships 43.
UFC Fight Night 105 takes place on Sunday, February 19 from the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with Derrick Lewis and Travis Browne headlining, the main card will air live on Fox Sports 1.
