Lawrence Okolie's next opponent has been revealed on fight week for his in-ring return.

Okolie had been ready to fight all month long with his original fight date being July 6 in the main event of a Matchroom card in Manchester. Okolie was set to defend his British and Commonwealth titles against Jack Massey, but Massey suffered an arm injury which canceled the bout and as a result, caused the entire show to be called off. One of the top fights on that July 6 show, Anthony Fowler vs. Brian Rose, has already been rescheduled for August 2 as the main event of a JD NXTGEN show in Liverpool.

Gudino has fought professionally since 2015 and did start out winning his first 12 pro bouts, capturing the WBC Latino Silver cruiserweight title in 2017. Since then, Gudino had only won just once in his last three fights, but did snap his losing streak back in May when he stopped Marcelo Adrian Fernandez in the fourth round of their bout.

In other Okolie news, the European Boxing Union (EBU) announced that both Okolie and European champion Yves Ngabu have been ordered to fight each other. A purse bid date has been set for a potential title clash and will take place on July 31.
