Luke Rockhold Says He May Have The Itch To Fight Again

A few months ago, it appeared that former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold may not ever fight again.

However, it also appears that the former champion has had a change of mind, as Rockhold says he may have the itch to fight again.

“I just kept my mouth shut (because I didn’t want to retire prematurely),” Rockhold told MMA UK News (via Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie). “People just do it to seek attention. I’m not trying to make some big statement, make attention about it when I’m not sure about it. Here we are now. I’m getting healthier, and I might be getting an itch. We’ll see.”

Rockhold is currently in the midst of a two fight losing streak, with his last bout being a second round knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239

The fighter does have a few future opponents in mind, with both of them being former UFC Middleweight Champions.

“A lot of interesting choices (for me),” Rockhold said. “If Anderson (Silva) is still interested and seemingly he is. Maybe, you never know. (Chris) Weidman’s got a fight coming up. If something, he comes out of that well, you never know. There’s options.”

Neither Weidman or Silva are booked for a fight at the moment, so if Rockhold does return soon, it could lead to a bout against either.
