The main event has been set for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 113 card as #9 Gunnar Nelson is in action against #13 Santiago Ponzinibbio.
Nelson (16-2-1) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, those wins came over Brandon Thatch, Albert Tumenov and Alan Jouban. Nelson is currently winless in UFC main event fights, having dropped a bout to Rick Story by decision at UFC Fight Night 53. Nelson has actually won four of five in his previous ?Fight Night? appearances and he?s entering the fight riding a two fight winning streak.
Ponzinibbio (24-3-0) will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak and he hasn?t suffered a defeat in almost two years. Ponzinibbio will also be competing in his first main event fight in the UFC, the fighter has been with the promotion for just under four years now. Ponzinibbio has also spent the majority of his UFC career competing on ?Fight Night? cards, and the fighter has yet to compete on a pay-per-view card.
