Heavyweight contender Mark Hunt has filed a civil suit against the UFC, UFC President Dana White and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.
According to the documents filed by Hunt as a part of the lawsuit, he is alleging charges of racketeering, fraud and conspiracy against all three defendants. ESPN first reported the story.

Hunt spoke about the lawsuit to ESPN:
“I want the UFC to understand it’s not OK to keep doing what they’re doing,” Hunt said. “They’re allowing guys to do this. They had a chance to take all the money from this guy, because he’s a cheater, and they didn’t. What message is that sending to the boys and girls who want to be a fighter some day? The message is, ‘You just have to cheat like this and it’s OK.’ In society, if you commit a crime, you pay. Why is it different in MMA? It’s hurt the business, so it’s even worse. They need to be held accountable for this.”
Hunt’s suit against the UFC, Lesnar and White also asserts that the “UFC and its agents have affirmatively circumvented and obstructed fair competition for their own benefit, including being complicit in doping proliferation under the guise of advancing ‘the best anti-doping program in all of professional sports.’ Defendants have accomplished this by means including but not limited to various and rampant purported use exemptions, drug testing exemptions and by failure to enforce its own policies.”
Hunt’s issues with the UFC began at UFC 200 this past July, where he lost a unanimous decision to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, in what was Lesnar’s first fight since 2011.
It would be revealed shortly after UFC 200 that Lesnar had failed a pair of drug tests, one before and one after the fight with Hunt. Since then, Hunt has been speaking out against the UFC and even wanted a clause in his contract for future fights, where if an opponent failed a drug test, he would forfeit his entire purse to Hunt.
In the lawsuit filing, Hunt also mentions his fights against Antonio Silva and Frank Mir as examples of other fighters who he fought against that have failed drug tests, and alludes to former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort as a fighter who has failed multiple drug tests.
Hunt is currently slated to fight former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem at UFC 209, the fight is still on at this point in time.
