Mark Hunt Says Half The Fighter’s He Fought In The UFC Were Cheaters

Mark Hunt is in action this weekend at UFC Fight Night Adelaide 2018, facing Justin Willis in a heavyweight division affair.

This is expected to be Hunt’s final fight in the UFC, which may serve the fighter good, since Hunt believes half the fighters he fought in the UFC were cheaters.

“Of course I feel like there’s more to do,” Hunt said to MMA Junkie. “Half the guys I lost to are freaking cheaters. There’s so much more to do, but it’s not my call. I never got the opportunities. After Derrick Lewis, I got No. 7, No. 9, now I’ve got No. 13. (Expletive) it, I’m not going to get another shot, and that’s the way it is. I’m done with it. I’m at peace with it.”

Hunt has fought a total of 17 times in the UFC (not counting this weekends event), meaning if his numbers are accurate, anywhere from 8-9 fighters Hunt fought were on illegal substances.

The soon to be free agent is going to fight again after the UFC run ends, but he’ll only be fighting for the highest bidder.

“Of course it’s about money,” Hunt said. “You don’t want to get beaten up for nothing. You’d be stupid to do that. I don’t really give a (expletive) what people say or those idiots that say, ‘I do it because I love it.’ Yeah, right. Let me punch you in the head for free. Of course it’s about the money. Fighting is for poor people to get out of there. Don’t give me any rubbish about, ‘I do it because I love to do it.’ Bull(expletive). Let me kick you in the face for nothing, man. Come on.”

UFC Fight Night Adelaide takes place on Saturday, December 1 from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia with Junior Dos Santos and Tai Tuivasa headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
