Markus Perez Replacing John Phillips At UFC Fight Night Fresno

John Phillips has suffered an undisclosed injury and he has been pulled from the upcoming UFC Fight Night Fresno card, replacing him against Eryk Anders is going to be Markus Perez.

Anders (9-0-0) has already competed once under the UFC banner, defeating Rafael Natal by first round knockout at UFC On Fox 25. Anders is also a former Legacy Fighting Alliance Middleweight Title, defeating Brendan Allen at LFA 14 to win the gold. Anders also competed once in the Bellator MMA promotion, defeating Brian White by first round TKO at Bellator 162.

Perez (9-0-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is also the current Legacy Fighting Alliance Middleweight Champion. Perez already holds victories over a pair of UFC veterans in Paulo Thiago and Ildemar Alcantara. Perez is also the current Thunder Fight Middleweight Champion, defeating the aforementioned Paulo Thiago to win the belt in August of 2016.

UFC Fight Night Fresno takes place on Saturday, December 9 from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
