Raphael Assuncao wanted to prove doubters wrong, while Marlon Moraes hoped to right a wrong in their Saturday night rematch at UFC Fortaleza.

The two competed in 2017, with Marlon Moraes winning on the scorecards of the media and most fans, but not on the judge's scorecards. With a potential Bantamweight title fight against TJ Dillashaw hanging in the balance, they would clash again in Fortaleza.

#4 Moraes opened up by throwing low kicks to the lead leg of #3 Assuncao before dropping his opponent with a huge overhand. Not too long after, Moraes locked on a guillotine choke to put the fight to bed.

After the fight, Marlon Moraes claimed that he nearly withdrew from the fight due to a nasty case of diarrhea. He also declared that after UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw lost to Flyweight Henry Cejudo, he should "chase the little guys," and may not deserve to face Moraes.
