Matchroom Boxing Announces Four-Week Fight Camp Series; World Title Fights Announced

Matchroom Boxing is officially coming back in August with multiple world title fights and regional title clashes, all taking place outdoors. 

The British promotion announced a four-week series of fights taking place in the backyard of Matchroom HQ in Brentwood, Essex, starting on August 1. The first three shows will air on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and stream on DAZN in the United States. The fourth and final show will air on Sky Sports Box Office in the United Kingdom.

Several major names have been announced for the series of shows, including Interim WBC Heavyweight titlist Dillian Whyte taking on Alexander Povetkin, WBC Super Featherweight champion Terri Harper defending her title against Natasha Jonas and Undisputed WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF Lightweight champion Katie Taylor in a title defense.

Matchroom Fight Camp Week 1, August 1:

- Sam Eggington vs. Ted Cheeseman: IBF International Junior Middleweight Title

- James Tennyson vs. Gavin Gwynne: BBBofC British Lightweight Title

- Jordan Gill vs. Reece Bellotti

- Fabio Wardley vs. Simon Vallily: BBBofC English Heavyweight Title 

- Dalton Smith vs. Nathan Bennett

Matchroom Fight Camp Week 2, August 7:

- Terri Harper vs. Natasha Jonas: WBC Super Featherweight World Title 

- Chris Billam-Smith vs. Nathan Thorley: Commonwealth Cruiserweight Title

- Anthony Fowler vs. Adam Harper 

- Aqib Fiaz vs. Kane Baker

- Felix Cash vs. Jason Welborn: Commonwealth Middleweight Title

Matchroom is the latest major promotion to announce a return to live boxing. Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions recently announced its return, starting on July 10 with a show at the BT Sport Studio.
