Matchroom Boxing Officially Announces Tevin Farmer vs. Francisco Fonseca

A third world title fight has officially been announced for the December 15 Madison Square Garden show.

Matchroom Boxing announced that IBF super featherweight champion Tevin Farmer will defend his title against Francisco Fonseca as part of the undercard for the Canelo Alvarez vs. Rocky Fielding bout.

The fight will be Farmer's third title bout since August, when he traveled to Australia to defeat Billy Dib for the vacant title. Farmer would go on to defend the title on a recent Matchroom Boxing card in Boston, stopping James Tennyson in the fifth round of their fight.

Fonseca has previously challenged for the IBF title back in August 2017. Fonseca fought Gervonta Davis for the vacant title, but only Fonseca was eligible to win the belt as Davis missed weight the day before and was stripped of the title. Fonseca would go on to lose the fight against Davis, but has since then won his last three fights.

With the announcement, there are three world title fights set to take place on December 15 at Madison Square Garden. Below are the three title fights scheduled for the show, which will be streamed on DAZN in the United States in its entirety:

Canelo Alvarez vs. Rocky Fielding (c): WBA "Regular" Super Middleweight title

Katie Taylor (c) vs. Eva Wahlstrom: Unified WBA and IBF Women's Lightweight titles

Tevin Farmer (c) vs. Francisco Fonseca: IBF Super Featherweight title

Fightful will have live coverage of the entire card, which will also feature a middleweight bout between David Lemieux and Tureano Johnson as the co-main event bout.
