Max Holloway & Israel Adesanya Are Early Betting Favorites For UFC 236 Title Bouts

MMA

UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier will battle for the vacant UFC Interim Lightweight Title in the main event of UFC 236, while Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum will compete for the vacant UFC Interim Middleweight Title in the co-main event of the show.

Holloway, despite losing in the first bout to Poirier, is listed as a betting favorite in the rematch according to the Las Vegas Superbook. Holloway is listed as a -240 favorite in the bout, while Poirier comes in as the +190 underdog for the fight. That means that a bet of $100 for Poirier would win the bettor a $190 profit for a Poirier victory, while someone betting on Holloway to win would have to risk $240 just to profit a $100 off of a Holloway win.

The Las Vegas Superbook also lists Adesanya as a favorite over Gastelum in their title fight, with Adesanya listed as a -190 favorite and Gastelum as a +160 underdog. That means that someone better $100 on Gastelum would win a $160 profit for a Gastelum win, while a bettor would have to risk $190 to gain a $100 profit on an Adesanya victory.

It should be noted that the odds will fluctuate until the fights actually begin.

UFC 236 takes place on Saturday, April 13 from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia with Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
