UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor made his professional boxing debut against the legendary Floyd Mayweather in “The Money Fight.”

In that fight, the UFC star was promptly finished by Mayweather via a tenth record TKO.

While the pay-per-view numbers haven’t been officially released in the United States, they have been released in the United Kingdom.

The super fight between the UFC fighter and the boxing great received over one million pay-per-view buys in the UK, which broke the record set earlier this year by the Anthony Joshua versus Wladimir Klitschko bout.

This is all according to a report from Boxing News Online.

Mayweather has drawn big numbers in the UK in the past, because his bout against Manny Pacquiao in 2015 drew around 700,000 pay-per-view buys in the country.

Showtime Executive Stephen Espinoza recently stated that the super fight was trending towards record setting pay-per-view numbers in the United States, but again, nothing has been announced as far as the US pay-per-view numbers go.

A potential rematch between the two fighters seems highly unlikely, even after such great numbers, because Mayweather announced his retirement after the super fight and the UFC Lightweight Champion is expected to defend his championship in his next bout.
