Megan Anderson Calls Out Cyborg For Title Fight

MMA

Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Megan Anderson and UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg were supposed to meet for the title at UFC 214, but Anderson was pulled from the fight due to an injury.

Cyborg has since successfully defended the gold against former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm at UFC 219.

Anderson may be ready to get back in the cage because she has called out Cyborg for an upcoming title fight, which was done via Twitter:

There are only three competitors listed in the UFC Women’s Featherweight Division and the only one Cyborg hasn’t fought is Anderson.

Cyborg, possibly unaware of the tweet from Anderson, stated at the UFC 219 post-fight press conference that she would like to fight the Invicta FC Featherweight Champion.

“I’m saying (I want Megan Anderson), because she’s 145 pounds,” Cyborg said. “I would like my division to grow. If we’re growing fast, you need to put more girls at 145. And I think she’s in the line to fight for the belt.”

If the fight were to come together, it would be the first time that Cyborg fought an actual featherweight in the UFC, instead of women moving up from the bantamweight division.
