Michael Bisping Awaits Opponent For Retirement Fight

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping is content to have his retirement fight this coming May at UFC Fight Night Liverpool.

There is just one problem and that is that Bisping doesn’t have an opponent yet and he is waiting to see what the UFC comes up with.

“That’s a nice retirement fight,” Bisping said on Believe You Me. “Liverpool. Northwest of England. That’s where I’m from. I am interested in fighting on that card. We’ll see what the UFC comes up with, but yeah, definitely interested, for sure. That would be my last fight.”

Bisping had initially wanted to retire at UFC Fight Night London, but the promotion ran out of time to get him on the card.

The former middleweight champion has notified the UFC of his intentions to fight on the card, but nothing has come to fruition at this time.

“I said to the UFC throw some names my way, and we’ll see,” Bisping said. “We’ll see what they come back with. But yeah, I’m certainly interested. Definitely interested, so there you go.”

UFC Fight Night Liverpool takes place on Saturday, May 27 from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England with Darren Till and Stephen Thompson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
