Michael Bisping Says Dan Henderson Was His Punching Bag

MMA

Current UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping has dealt with his share of criticism due to the scorecards from his UFC 204 win over Dan Henderson.

Bisping responded to his controversial UFC 204 victory by first making a statement via his Twitter account.

Dark Side Of The Cage To Premiere In January, Will Cover Ronda Rousey, Matt Hughes, Kimbo Slice, More

Bisping would then go on to write a blog to again explain why he was the rightful winner of the bout against Henderson at UFC 204, parts of the blog are posted at The Bloody Elbow.

“Anybody that thinks Dan won that fight…quite frankly, you guys are crazy,” Bisping said. “Of course, Dan is going to say that because it was in England, the judges were partial to me. They were the same judges that score many, many UFC events. It’s not like they rounded up three blokes from Manchester just for this fight. There’s a thing called an airplane, and those judges were flown out to score that bout. Dan can try to come up with whatever excuses he wants to discredit my win, the fact of the matter is, he should be gracious in defeat. I won, fair and square. He put on a great performance, I won’t deny it. Well done to you, Dan, but guess what? It just wasn’t enough. They got it right on the scorecard.”

Henderson has since retired from the sport of MMA, while Bisping’s next middleweight title fight has yet to be announced by himself or the UFC.
