Michael Bisping Thinks Eddie Alvarez Would Destroy Conor McGregor

MMA

Michael Bisping has choice words regarding a possible Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor fight.

Conor McGregor was originally scheduled to fight for the lightweight title against then-lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 196 in March. Less than two weeks before the fight, dos Anjos pulled out of the fight due to injury. Nate Diaz stepped in and upset the featherweight champion by second round submission. Diaz and McGregor rematched at last month's UFC 202 with the SBG fighter emerging victorious by majority decision.

McGregor doesn't have a fight scheduled, but one of the fighters he could be facing next is current UFC lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez.

In a recent interview with the Daily Star Sport, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping feels the featherweight champion wants nothing to with Alvarez. Bisping feels if McGregor does end up taking the fight, "The Count" feels due to their styles of fighting, Alvarez would batter the Irishman.

"I think looking at that last fight, he does not want to fight Eddie Alvarez at 155," Bisping told Daily Star Sport in a recent interview. "I think Alvarez kills him man. He?ll just take him down and destroy him. I?m not saying that to be mean, I just think stylistically.?

While he feels McGregor will not be dual-division champion, Bisping respects what "Notorious" has done for the sport in such a short amount of time.

"I like Conor, Bisping said. "Conor is incredible, he?s done amazing things for this sport. He?s brought so many eyes on to it, he?s making so much money and he?s exciting as hell. He brings excitement."

Bisping will make his first title defense at UFC 204 in Oct.8 when he rematches Dan Henderson. The card takes place in Bisping's hometown of Manchester, England.
