UFC Ultimate Fighter 15 champion and top 15 ranked lightweight Michael Chiesa has signed a new four fight contract with the UFC.

The lightweight contender had one fight left on his old UFC deal, but chose to sign a new contract with the promotion instead of fighting once more and entering free agency.

Chiesa ha already earned a total of six wins in the UFC, with those victories coming over Al Iaquinta, Colton Smith, Francisco Trinaldo, Mitche Clark, Jim Miller and Beneil Dariush. Chiesa is also coming off of a controversial submission loss to Kevin Lee at UFC Fight Night Oklahoma City, because he claims he never passed out of tapped from Lee’s rear naked choke.

However, the referee of the fight in Mario Yamasaki said the fighter went out cold, a story Lee also corroborated a short time later.

Despite signing a new four fight deal with the UFC, the promotion has yet to book him in another fight and it is unknown at this time as to when he is going to fight again.

This signing of Chiesa now keeps another highly touted free agent from signing with Bellator MMA, which has become the norm as of late with lots of highly touted fighters like Ryan Bader, Ben Henderson and Roy Nelson leaving the UFC for the Viacom owned promotion.
