Michael Page Denies Fernando Gonzalez’s Claims About Being Tested

Michael Page is one of the most exciting fighters to ever step into the cage for Bellator MMA, and hopes to solidify that reputation at Bellator 165.

This is the third time the two fighters have attempted to fight each other, injuries canceled the previous fights between the two.

Gonzalez recently spoke with at a Bellator 165 media call, where he made the claim that Page has yet to be tested as a professional MMA fighter.

“I watched both of the videos (made by Page), I thought it was kind of funny, especially the last one,” Gonzalez said. “Bad choice in food products, I guess. He’s basically eating balls and drinking milk and he’s cupping and savoring the taste. I don’t know how to take that as a callout. I think the victory alone is going to be enough for me…I respect him as a fighter, but after this, I’ll allow him to congratulate me for making him a better fighter. He still hasn’t been tested and I’m going to give him his first loss.”

Page responded to Gonzalez in the same media call, claiming that Gonzalez is just another name that he must defeat in Bellator MMA.

“It doesn’t bother me,” Page said. “Like I said, it’s just another name, that’s all I see, another name on a piece of paper they selected. I’ve just got to go in there and be me, that’s it. “I’m allergic to bull(expletive). There’s no point in responding.”

Bellator 165 takes place on Saturday, November 19 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Michael Chandler and Ben Henderson headlining. You can see our exclusive interview with MVP from earlier this year at this link.
