Mickey Gall was lookin' for a fight, and he got one.
Mickey Gall (3-0) will take on Sage Northcutt (8-1) at UFC on Fox 22 on December 22, ESPN reported on Thursday. Gall called out Northcutt following his UFC 203 victory over former WWE Champion CM Punk.
Gall has fought twice in the UFC, both against opponents without wins in their pro MMA careers. Northcutt is 3-1 in his UFC career, with wins over Enrique Marin, Cody Pfister and Francisco Trevino. For the first time in Gall's young UFC career, he'll be facing someone with an in-ring experience advantage over him.
Gall was hoping the fight would take place at Madison Square Garden for UFC 205, but a staph infection rendered Northcutt unable to compete that soon. The two have also been tweeting back and forth, making fun of each other's hair, with Gall calling for a pro wrestling style 'hair vs. hair' match.
Both fighters appeared on UFC President Dana White's UFC Fight Pass program Lookin' For A Fight. UFC on Fox 22 takes place December 22, from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
