Spicely (10-2-0) has won two of four during his time with the UFC, with those two wins coming over the duo of Thiago Santos and Alessio Di Chirico. Spicely is a longtime veteran of the CES MMA promotion, where he won six of eight fights via a form of first round finish. Spicely also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23, making it to the semi-finals before losing to Andrew Sanchez.

Meerschaert (26-9-0) has won two of three fights during his UFC tenure, with those victories coming over Joe Gigliotti and Ryan Janes. Meerschaert also competed once in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance, defeating Chase Waldon by first round submission at RFA 45. It has almost been a year since the last time Meerschaert earned a victory, which came over the aforementioned Ryan Janes at UFC Fight Night 105 in February 2017.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale takes place on Friday, December 1 from the Park Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
