Mike Santiago has agreed to step in on short notice to replace an injured Nick Hein against Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC Fight Night Rotterdam this Saturday.
Santiago (19-9-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a nine fight winning streak that has lasted over three years. Santiago competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 7, defeating Mark Cherico by knockout. Santiago is also a longtime veteran of the Ring of Combat promotion, where he holds a win over Bellator MMA veteran Lester Caslow.
Magomedsharipov (12-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight while on an eight fight winning streak. Magomedsharipov is a longtime veteran of the Absolute Championships Berkut promotion, winning all six fights he competed at within the promotion. Magomedsharipov has only suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Igor Egorov by third round submission at Pro FC 47.
