Mike Santiago Replaces Nick Hein At UFC Fight Night Rotterdam

Mike Santiago has agreed to step in on short notice to replace an injured Nick Hein against Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC Fight Night Rotterdam this Saturday.

Santiago (19-9-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a nine fight winning streak that has lasted over three years. Santiago competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 7, defeating Mark Cherico by knockout. Santiago is also a longtime veteran of the Ring of Combat promotion, where he holds a win over Bellator MMA veteran Lester Caslow.

Magomedsharipov (12-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight while on an eight fight winning streak. Magomedsharipov is a longtime veteran of the Absolute Championships Berkut promotion, winning all six fights he competed at within the promotion. Magomedsharipov has only suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Igor Egorov by third round submission at Pro FC 47.

UFC Fight Night: Rotterdam takes place on Saturday, September 2 from Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands with Stefan Struve and Alexander Volkov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
