Mandy Polk currently has a 3-3-0 record as a professional MMA fighter, but faced a fight of a different kind on Saturday, April 29 when she witnessed a robbery.

Upon witnessing the situation, the MMA fighter knew she had to act in order to help the victim out.

“When the woman yelled, ‘Help me, help me! Somebody help me!’ That’s when I knew I had to go,” said Polk to WMC5 Action News.

Polk would grab the assailant in an attempt to hold him down, but that didn’t go according to plan for the fighter.

Even though the assailant would eventually break free and punch her in the chin, the fighter has no regrets about helping out and even credits her MMA training for not getting injured further.

“If I wasn’t trained, it would have been awful. It could have been very very bad for me if I didn’t know how to move and work myself out of the way,” said Polk.

Although the assailant has yet to be caught as of this writing, the fighter did grab his cell phone and turn it into the authorities.

The Tennessee native has earned three victories in her professional MMA career, those victories have come over Briannah Conatser, Anne Malinoff and Ronni Nanney.
